Breaking News: Revised Council Agenda adds Executive Session and new Resolution
Resolution could end litigation on West Main Street building
Earlier this afternoon, the City Council Clerk released an updated agenda for tomorrow night’s City Council meeting. The revised agenda adds an Executive Session towards the beginning of the meeting and Resolution R-65-2023 to have the first reading.
The resolution deals with the building at 112-118 West Main Street and authorizes the Director of Public Service and Safety to execute a “Global Settlement Agreement” with all parties involved with the litigation. The resolution outlines that the agreement puts the following actions in motion:
Permits the property at 112-118 West Main Street to be transferred to the Troy Historic Preservation Alliance.
Terminates all pending litigation.
Establishes deadlines for the expeditious repair and/or demolition of the building.
The meeting begins tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at City Hall.

Sounds like a way for the court to save face and sneak out of decisions made to hold up this issue and hardship put on surrounding business and traffic issues.
Dare we say progress?
