As a bike rider, I feel that it is extremely dangerous to have powered bikes/skateboards/scooters, etc. on our bike paths. This puts not only walkers in danger, but also cyclists. Those that ride these turns to be younger and not as observant and respectful to others…this can be easily noted by simply watching those who operate these do so on a city sidewalk. The city needs to place a ban on anything powered on the bike paths to avoid what will end up causing accidents and or injuries.

Here is where I am worried, an ordinance that HASN'T EVEN BEEN WRITTEN is going to give wide latitude to one individual to unilaterly decide what is going to be allowed on these bike paths and what it isn't going to be allowed. What kind of process will that one person go through to decide what is going to be allowed or not? Will users of the bike path be consulted? Will those that like e-bikes be consulted? I am really uncomfortable giving all this authority to one person who is not accountable to the public for the decisions that they make.

Agreed. There needs to be studies done and impact from those who use the paths needs to be given HEAVY consideration. They also need to take into account the remoteness of some of the paths and the risk for fire along devices that use lithium ion batteries.
