Early Voting Starts Today
Due to some technical difficulties on my end, today's publication is going to be unbelievably short.
The biggest news of the day is that today is the first day of early voting for November’s General Election. Voters wishing to cast an in-person ballot can do so at the Board of Elections office in the first floor of the Old Courthouse.
This publication has poured over data for those that have requested a mail-in ballot, and we will discuss those numbers in a future edition. One interesting tidbit is that mail-in ballot requests are lower now than in both 2020 and 2016.
Another piece this publication is working on is a recommendation that the Troy Planning Commission will be discussing at tomorrow’s meeting. The Commission will be voting on a recommendation to City Council that will ban adult use cannabis dispensaries in the community. This move comes approximately one year after voters in Ohio passed Issue 2, a measure that allowed recreational use of cannabis.
