Flock Camera Report - September 2023
The Troy Police Department continues to update the community on the effectivness of the Flock Camera System
Over the past few months, this publication had a post outlining how the Troy Police Department has used the recently installed Flock Camera System to solve certain crimes in the community. These posts have been well received and many comments were received saying that this kind of information was useful for the community and these posts are extremely popular, showing this information is valuable to the general public.
On September 5, 2023, a 90-year-old female with possible memory issues was reported missing by her family. The department entered her license plate number into the Flock System, which then alerted the Huber Heights Police Department. The Huber Heights Police Department then located the woman within an hour and a half of the initial call to our dispatch.
On September 5, 2023, an officer used the Flock system to confirm the location of a male suspect who threatened to kill a female victim. The involved parties were previously known to each other and had a long-standing disagreement with each other. The male was charged with aggravated menacing.
On September 22, 2023, after the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office contacted Troy Police Department officers about a crash in their jurisdiction, the Troy officers contacted the owner of the vehicle in Troy. The owner reported the car stolen and Flock Cameras showed the vehicle leaving Troy. The case remains open with no suspects.
On September 27, 2023, detectives with the Pataskala Police Department came to Troy because a vehicle belonging to a suspect with several felony warrants for child endangering from Pataskala was observed in the community by the Flock Camera system. A female was located at a hotel in the area of West Market Street and Interstate 75. Upon her arrest, both drugs and drug paraphernalia were located.
