Vol. IV. No. 81 - The Next Move Is Pretty Obvious. Whether It Will Happen Is Not Clear

There are two ways to assess Tuesday’s public hearing on Piqua’s proposed AES franchise agreement.

One is to observe that it lasted nearly three hours, attracted nearly two dozen speakers, and included something that has become almost novel in local government: questions asked in public and, occasionally, answers given in public.

The other is to observe that after all of that, we remain unclear about who negotiated the agreement, on what instructions, and in whose interests.

The second observation is the more important one.
