I gotta disagree with you on this one. I think that this is one of those projects that a lot of people have a gut reaction against when they first hear about it, but will end up liking once they get to try it out.
(It reminds me of congestion pricing in NYC - it had a lot of hate early on, but now there's nearly universal agreement within the affected area that it was a massive improvement. Most of the folks who are still against it haven't actually experienced the change.)
I am a guy that rides a bike 2500 miles a year....I am not anti bike infrastructure, but this isn't the place for this type of improvement. The east side has no problem getting access to the bike path. Other parts of town have a much more challenging problem with bike path access that needs addressed before this remedy. I am also convinced that few people will use it. When you have to stop at every single intersection on the trail, users will find other ways to get to where they want to go.
Is there a “picture overlay” that can be put on the map that shows what City wards are involved on this east side survey? I’m curious what ward council members are impacted by this project. Thanks.
Haven't seen one, but bascially everything north of Franklin Street is Ward 2, represented by Kristie Marshall. Everything south of Franklin Street is Ward 3, represented by Madison Hickman.
